Visit Spencer Public Library during National Library Week 2017! All week long we will be celebrating with
treats and events for kids. Stop at the
front desk to guess how many gummy worms are in a jar. Color a picture of your
favorite thing about the library and turn it in for a prize. Or attend one of the great events listed
below…
Storysong-Writing/Painting Workshop
Thursday, April 13th, 1-3pm
Chad Elliott, singer/songwriter/artist of
Wilderman’s Treetop Tales, returns to Spencer Public Library! In addition to a mini-concert, Chad will
teach us about his process of developing characters, writing stories and songs
about them, and then creating them in paint on canvas.
Elementary school-aged students are
invited to help Chad in his creative process.
As a group, we will create a name and storyline for a brand-new
character. Then learn hands-on how to bring this new character to
life, both on canvas and in song! Chad
will give the finished painting to the library for all to enjoy. REGISTER @ the
library or call 580-7290 or email sbfuchsen@spenceriowacity.com
