November is National Novel Writing Month (Nanowrimo) when
hundreds of thousands of brave souls write 50,000 words in 30 days. The library
held courses in September and October to prepare you for your marathon novel,
but now it is up to you. Of course, we will provide all the motivational
support you’ll need. So, let’s get writing!
In November the Book Into Movie Club is reading Carson
McCullers debut novel, “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter”. McCullers book about a
deaf-mute man in a 1930s Georgia mill town, spins a haunting, unforgettable
story that gives voice to the rejected, the forgotten, and the mistreated. We
will be discussing and watching the movie in December.
DIY Club is back with a wonderful fall project planned– Fall
Fabric Stamping. We will be stamping leaves, acorns, and pumpkins in fall paint
colors on tea towels.
The Movie of the Month is the comedy, “The Grand Seduction”,
starring Brendan Gleason and Taylor Kitsch. To survive, a dying Newfoundland
fishing village must convince a young doctor to take up residence by any means necessary
even when it includes wiretapping his phones to find out his likes and playing
a hilarious game of cricket.
Our computer tech wizard, Aimee, has more exciting, and
informative, tech classes for you. On November 18 she will be talking about
“Basic Internet Safety”. Learn how to behave and protect yourself online while
staying safe and enjoying all the benefits the internet has to offer.
The library is pleased to have musician, Chad Elliott,
performing on November 19. Putting poetry to music is what he does best and you
will not be disappointed. So join us for a relaxing evening and great music.
